    not true, a hen …
    not true, a hen will start brooding on unfertile eggs also. Our hen did and I put a couple of chicks under her one night and then she had some adopted babys that she loved, but one was a rooster and had to give him away. And also noted, the other hen (two total adult hens) did not bother the chicks of the brooding hen.

    I have had both of the chickens you have presented. I grew up in the eighties with chickens. In a very redneck family. They were pets until they did not lay eggs. Then they were soup. I love real chikens. Thanks for your work. In a few months I will be buying a house and have my own again. the fast food giants……………
