I’ve made a video about Ameraucanas, Araucanas, and EasterEggers. Later, I will be doing videos as breed spotlights for all three.

  • BigFeatherFarm says:

    They are easter …
They are easter eggers, NOT to be confused with the pure breeds of Araucana and Ameraucana.

Easter Egger are mutts – no hatchery sells purebred ameraucanas or araucanas.

  • BigFeatherFarm says:

    All hatcheries sell …
All hatcheries sell EasterEggers – crossbred mutts used to produce green eggs. No hatchery sells purebred Ameraucana or Araucana.

And the two breeds are different.

um csbarrett14 and abisheridee, im not trying to prove you wrong, but what i have learned online and in books is that there is a such thing as an americana and it mostly looks like the one in here. An araucana has ear tufts and no tail and is the original blue egg layer. Easter eggers are just crosses like the one here. Thats just what ive learned.

That is not an Araucana rooster. That is an EasterEgger rooster. He is not a pure-bred araucana.

  • BigFeatherFarm says:

    Araucana and …
Araucana and Ameraucana Exist – they are PURE BREEDS.

This bird is a mutt bird – an Easter Egger – a cross between either Araucana or Ameraucana and any other breed, used to produce green egg laying birds.
