I decided to add this film after seeing one on Foster Farms. There is an alternative, it is called raising your own food. It is a sacred way of living, and a revolutionary way of living in this period of history. I encourage all who have the desire to become farmers, gardeners, or raise animals to go for it!!

In this video eggs have been put into an incubator to hatch. This short clip shows the progress of the eggs over their hatching period. Raising baby chickens. A quick guide to keeping and raising chicks. This video shows the basic requirements of chicks for their first 5-8 weeks (by which time they should get their full feathers). They will grow quite quickly (and so will the size of their brooder). Once they have their full feathers they will be able to move into their chicken coop. UPDATE…..these birds were taken to auction. I replaced them with 20 week RIR fresh from the hatchery and now have so many eggs we don’t know what to do!

This video shows an unusual chicken breed in unusual looks. Most Ameraucanas seen somewhere else are most likely mixed. In this video, they are in their original colors and genes. The black and red ones are Wheatens, while the grey and red ones are Blue Wheatens. The white ones are Ameraucana hens, while the others are other breeds. The white rooster is a splash, which is like a “wild card”.
