Introducing new chickens to the brood isn’t very easy to do. This is the morning after when the new pullets were introduced to the brood. Because hens often are very brutal and can kill baby chicks because they weren’t incubated by a residential hen. We put the new pullets right along side the bardrock hens in a confined area.
Even adding a pullet of the same breed isn’t a sure and safe friendly even. Yesterday our hens fought almost to the death. It’s best to buy the amount of chicks that you plan on having in the future. Just because they are the same breed is no gaurantee they will co-exist happily.
